Beef and Pork Guiso
My girlfriend's mom, Mama, makes this incredible guiso (stew) once a year and often includes it in a more intricate recipe, which doesn't allow us to appreciate the value of the guiso as is. It is good by itself, with rice or pasta, or with chips. I love it because it's awesome, incredible, and delicious.
Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders
These baked ham and cheese sliders are the most delicious sandwiches and perfect for any party. They are so good that even the pickiest of eaters will eat these!
Taco Dip
This taco dip is simple and scrumptious. It's delicious even when I use low-fat Cheddar and low-fat sour cream! Serve with baked tortilla chips for dipping.
Best Homemade Stuffing
This is my grandmother's turkey stuffing recipe and it's still the best I've ever had! The stuffing can be cooked inside your turkey or in a baking dish. This recipe makes enough to stuff a very large bird.
Vegan Pumpkin Brownie
Vegan pumpkin brownie is the best autumn recipe ever. Serve with vegan coconut whipped cream or pumpkin seeds.
#1 Pumpkin Spice Cookies
Delectable sponge-like cookies that are sweet and remind you of holiday seasons all year long!
Fantastic Pumpkin Bars
I developed this recipe to liven up the traditional pumpkin bar. My family says it's the best pumpkin bar they've ever had. This bar is dense and moist.
Jen's Almond Cardamom Cookies
This moist cookie has delicious a almond taste with a kick of cardamom - dreamy!
Anise Cookies (Springerle)
This is a 100 year old recipe from Germany. I use it every Christmas. Its traditionally served with black coffee to dunk the cookie in. I prefer to eat them when they are still warm as the lemon flavor and the anise is a wonderful combination and the lemon is stronger at that time.
Traditional Pfefferneusse
Family recipe for German peppernuts. Small, dense spice cookies that are tantalizing when dipped in coffee, or great on their own. This is the traditional version with molasses.
Pfeffernusse
These nut-sized cookies are spiced with ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper. They are called Pepperkaker, in Norway.
Danish Peppernut Christmas Cookies (Pebernodder)
These are deliciously tiny, somewhat time consuming to make (but totally worth it), eaten-by-the-handful Danish shortbread cookies. This recipe was given to me by a local grandmother at the annual Scandinavian Festival in Junction City, Oregon. Stored in an airtight container, they'll last close to two weeks.
