No Bake Granola Bars
Great quick and easy granola bar recipe that kids can make. Perfect to throw in lunches or in your purse for travel. You can also add 1/4 cup wheat germ without changing the consistency. Change up the dried fruit, nuts, and chocolate for different flavors. I generally keep the bars in the refrigerator until I am ready to eat them, but these keep well to take to work or school.
Watermelon Popsicles
These refreshing watermelon popsicles are easy to make by blending seedless watermelon with honey. Freeze in your favorite popsicle molds for a cool and fruity summertime treat!
Cacio e Pepe Taralli (Savory Italian Pretzels)
Often served with (and dipped in!) white wine, taralli are a fun and versatile Italian snack you can flavor all sorts of ways. This pepper and cheese variety starts with a simple unleavened dough starring white wine and olive oil. Rolled into ropes, then into rings, they're boiled and sprinkled with cheese before baking. Once baked, the cheese forms a crispy wafer in the middle of the ring!
Seasoned Oyster Crackers
These are great for just about anything--salads, soups, snacking, in meat loaf, etc.
Swedish Hard Tack
Hard tack, also called knΓ€ckebrΓΆd, is biscuit-like, crunchy, and sweet. Very nice with butter or cheese.
Tasty Seasoned Oyster Crackers
A wonderful seasoned oyster cracker recipe similar to others, but with different quantities and ingredients. So great as a snack or on salads. My kids love them! Quick, easy, and tasty!
Shrimp and Avocado Salad
This salad has shrimp combined with avocado and a Louis-style dressing.
Seafood Medley Ceviche
This seafood ceviche is sure to have heads turning at your table. Three types of seafood are marinated in three different citrus juices, then mixed with crunchy vegetables, garlic, and seasonings. Serve with chips, on a tostada, or eat it as-is, right out of the bowl!
Mexican-Style Shrimp Cocktail
Mexican-style shrimp cocktails are commonly spotted on menus in the Bay Area of California, but they don't seem to have caught on elsewhere β which is surprising since you can pretty much get Mexican food like tacos and burritos in just about any corner of the country. This is my version; you can make it your own by using these ingredients and amounts as a rough guide.
Honey Orange Firecracker Shrimp
Colossal-size honey orange shrimp, seasoned and fried crispy with honey, orange, garlic, and red pepper. You can dress this up with either orange, lemon, or lime zest and fresh thinly-sliced basil.
Shrimp Tempura
Serve these crisp, fried shrimp with a hot mustard sauce or sweet & sour sauce. The tempura batter may be used for other recipes. Try it with vegetables.
Shrimp Butter
This shrimp butter is a great dip for parties. It goes a long way and is served at room temperature. I usually serve it on thin wheat crackers.
