Tequila Orange Fizz
This tequila orange fizz is for the anejo tequila lovers. A spin on Ranch Water (tequila, lime and soda), elevates your aged tequila, for those times you want just a little something more than tequila on the rocks. The orange is subtle but compliments the warm, oaky notes. Use a good tequila for this one!
Maple Rum Flip
A classic flip cocktail shakes together liquor (or fortified wine) with sugar and a whole egg. This fall version uses rum, maple, rosemary, and nutmeg.
Strawberry-Gin Cocktail
I served this cocktail for the first time at a wedding shower and it was a hit! Since then I make it whenever strawberries are in season. I have substituted raspberries when I had them on hand and it was great!
Rosemary-Ginger Cocktail
Rosemary and ginger give both a piney taste and a little bite to these gin cocktails.
Salty Lemon Gin and Tonic
This gin and tonic with salty lemon recipe is one of my favorite cocktails. I often like experimenting with different add-ins instead of the traditional lime wedge. The salt from the preserved lemon really brings out the natural botanical flavors in gin.
Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster
Prepare to be blasted in the cosmos with the force of a thousand asteroids by the unstable, universally feared Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. As described by Douglas Adams in 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,' The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is an alcoholic beverage invented by ex-President of the Universe Zaphod Beeblebrox, considered by the Guide to be the 'Best Drink in Existence.' Its effects are similar to 'having your brains smashed in by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.' Beeblebrox advised that you should 'never drink more than two Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters unless you are a thirty ton mega elephant with bronchial pneumonia.'
Basil-Gin Cocktail
Basil-gin cocktail is a refreshing, flavorful drink that is perfect for a summertime afternoon!
Uncommonly Clyde
We drink this year-round but invented it over the holidays, when we had mounds of homemade cranberry sauce in the fridge. It evolved from a Champagne and fresh berry compote drink that we saw being made at Portland's Clyde Common. We subbed bourbon and experimented until we arrived at this delicious mix.
Rosemary Stinger Cocktail
Bitter, sweet, citrusy, refreshing, spicy, complex. This is a summer sipping drink.
The Deb (Peach-Basil Bourbon Smash) Cocktail
A juicy way to wind down after a busy day, and a good way to use up ripe peaches. Made and named for my friend Deb on her birthday. The peach-basil syrup makes 2 1/2 cups, enough for 8 to 10 cocktails. It keeps in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Clover Club
The egg white foam on top of this pretty drink begins to break down after about 10 minutes, so be sure to take a photo of your Clover Club and drink it up before that happens.
Basil Gimlet
This tried-and-true gin and lime cocktail is made even more refreshing by adding a few muddled basil leaves. Make sure you start with a chilled coupe glass.
