Terrific Turkey Chili
Using some fresh and some canned ingredients, this chili is a snap to throw together and will keep you craving it for days. Chunky zucchini, fresh green onion, sour cream, and - what the heck - shredded Cheddar cheese, are sure to make this your favorite chili recipe. If you like beans in your chili, garbanzos right out of the can are great in this.
Colorado Green Chili
This is a vegetarian green chili that you find all over Colorado. Goes great over breakfast burritos, cheeseburgers, fried eggs, or anything.
Dad's Chili
A combination of ground beef and pork is simmered with tomatoes, pinto beans, bell peppers, and onion in this meaty chili.
Slow Cooker Turkey and Chorizo Chili
This is the turkey chili I made to compete on fooduel.blogspot.com. It's not overbearingly spicy, with good texture and flavor. To thicken this chili, you can add double the amount of chorizo and stew the tomato sauce before adding it to the slow cooker.
Bacon Chili without Beans
I am not a fan of kidney beans, but I love chili and bacon. I tried switching out the beans with bacon in my mom's chili recipe, and it was an instant hit with the family. After a couple of years of tweaking the recipe to get it just right and taking it to chili cook-offs, here's what I came up with. Serve with your favorite chili mix-ins, such as Cheddar cheese and Fritos. Hope you enjoy!
Josh's Four-Way Chili
This colorful recipe is a modified version of my mom's chili that I grew up on. It is called 4 way because of the four steps to making your plate: spaghetti first, then crushed crackers, next cheese, and finally the chili. I added the peppers, but the recipe is still great (and faster) without them. To heat things up, just add hot sausage and/or hot chili seasoning packs instead of mild. It is an off-beat recipe that I am sure you will love!
Micah's 4 1/2-Alarm Chili
This is my sweet and spicy chili. Enough people have asked for the recipe that I decided to post it here! This makes a pretty big batch of chili. You can always halve the ingredients. Also, I probably make it a little bit differently each time, so it's no biggie if the ingredients aren't an exact match. I think that the chili is best when it has a few days to really combine the flavors.
Chuck's Come On Ice Cream (or Night of the Red Death) Chili
Beef and pork sirloin rubbed with many seasonings, marinated, then simmered with tomato, onion, garlic, salsa and the right bite of jalapeno chile peppers. Come on, ice cream! The best chili I have ever tasted. My cousin Chuck's recipe. The secret is in the meat seasoning! A must for any chili lover!
Turkey and Chorizo Chili with White Beans
Tasty, full-flavored chili with turkey and chorizo. Green chiles and spices offer just a little bit of heat. Serve with corn chips and avocado salad.
German Texas Chili
Fred is German and I am Texan! This creation is a blend of the two! Have a different ethnic background? You can easily add spices and other ingredients to make it your own, although, we have to say - it's quite good the way it is. This can easily be prepared the day before or put into the freezer for later use. Serve over baked potato or corn chips with 'fixins' such as sour cream, grated cheese, onions, etc. For a richer flavor, you are able to make this dish the night before and keep in refrigerator until the next day. Enjoy!
Lela's Pork Chili
An authentic Colorado family chili recipe I grew up eating. Everyone who eats my chili wants my mom's recipe. A flavorful tender pork chili simmered to bring out the flavor. Enjoy the chili with flour tortillas and fried potatoes. Or pour over chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, burritos, or tamales. Chili is always better the next day; I like to make this chili the night before so the flavors blend together.
Belly Burner Chili
Spicy sausage is browned, then cooked in a slow cooker with olives, tomato sauce and beans in this easy chili flavored with soy sauce.
