Swamp Cabbage
This swamp cabbage is a hearty cabbage stew, savory, meaty, and tender. Aromatic vegetables and meltingly tender cabbage combine with the bright acidity of tomatoes and uniquely textured hearts of palm for a flavorful dish that is sure to satisfy.
Air-Fried Cajun Polenta Fries
Pre-made polenta, Cajun seasoning, olive oil, and a little salt are all you need for these crispy polenta fries. They are great right out of the oven but also good cold. Polenta fries are a healthier alternative than fries made from potatoes; they have fewer carbs. Serve with a simple aioli, ketchup, or desired dipping sauce.
Grilled Polenta Bites with Black Bean Salsa
Grilled polenta rounds are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with a fresh salsa for a light and refreshing appetizer in the hot summer months.
Calzagatti (Pan-Fried Polenta and Beans)
From Italy's Emilia-Romagna, creamy polenta and cranberry beans are cooked together and then pan-fried. This particular version hails from Modena, famous for sports cars and Luciano Pavarotti. This recipe can also be called "casagai" or "cazzagai". This street food makes a lovely snack or appetizer and is best served with a light red wine. Serve warm as an appetizer or alongside a salad for a light meal.
Vegan Arepas Made with Polenta
Based on a vegetarian arepa I found in SoCal, this vegan polenta dish combines surprising flavors and textures for an easy meal.
Mel's Brown Pizza Sauce
I live about one hour from my favorite pizza joint, so I decided to make a version of Mel's brown pizza sauce recipe for the days I can't have the real thing (because, let's face it, nothing beats the real thing). After many attempts (10 full batches, to be exact) at adjusting my recipe, my taste buds came up with this. I hope you will try it and enjoy it as much as my family and I do. For the ultimate pizza experience, use Brothers pepperoni and Mozzarellissima pizza cheese.
Simple No-Cook Pizza Sauce
A very easy pizza sauce recipe which tastes as good or better than what restaurants use. You can also use this as a breadstick dip.
Essanaye's Pizza Sauce
After trying several brands of store-bought sauce, I decided it was time to make my own. This sauce is great, and super easy to make, but you should refrigerate it overnight to allow the flavors to meld. I started with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. We all liked the sauce, but I will try it next time with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Refrigerate overnight before using. Makes enough for 4 large pizzas.
Quick Pizza Sauce
You can make this quick pizza sauce while your crust is baking. This makes about enough sauce for 1 pizza.
Homemade Pizza Sauce Made Lighter
I say replace sugar with carrots in any tomato recipe. Additional veggies are a sneaky way to get them into the kids. Add olive oil near end of cooking to preserve its flavor.
The Best Pizza Sauce
This is the best pizza sauce ever. You will never go back to store-bought again. It's perfect for making homemade pizzas, or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks or garlic bread.
Pizza Sauce I
The Italian flavors of tomatoes, herbs like garlic, basil and oregano are blended with a little cinnamon, sugar, olive oil and parsley to make a fresh saucy pizza base.
