"Spa"ctacular Frozen Grapes
These grapes were served to me after a massage at my local spa. This recipe is perfect as an after-school snack, a simple appetizer at parties, or a sweet treat before bed. Substitute Splenda® for the sugar if you like! Can be kept in a sealed bag in the freezer for several months.
Wheat Crackers
These thin wheat crackers are simple and thrifty to make. They go great with almost any dip or spread, and taste much fresher than factory-made crackers.
Sourdough Rosemary Crackers
If you love making your own sourdough bread, you'll love this sourdough cracker recipe. Don't toss the discard every time you feed and refresh your starter. Turn this flavorful, unused product into amazingly delicious and super easy homemade crackers. With just the right amount of crunch and flavor, you won't be able to stop snacking. Fully cooled crackers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
Easy Instant Pot® Cocktail Meatballs
A twist on the grape jelly cocktail meatballs that everybody loves. This recipe uses apricot preserves, but feel free to use grape, orange marmalade, or even cranberry sauce - they're all delicious! Try different flavors of barbecue sauce too! These make the perfect party appetizer, especially when you're low on time!
BBQ Meatballs
BBQ meatballs is a crowd-pleasing slow cooker meatball appetizer that's effortless to prepare and bursting with rich barbecue flavor. Perfect for any occasion, this quick and easy recipe will have everyone coming back for more.
Almond and Parsley Salsa Verde
The reason I'm calling this salsa verde and not pesto is because whenever you say pesto, people instantly think of the traditional version with the pine nuts and basil. I'm using the term salsa verde the way it's used around northern California. It's a very generic term for any fresh green sauce, usually starring some type of herb, but also can be made with spinach, arugula, etc.
Memphis Wontons
A mashup of Southern BBQ with an Asian twist. This was inspired by my time living in Memphis, where you can get the world's best meats cooked low and slow.
Asparagus Guacamole
Guacamole made with spring asparagus instead of avocado.
Easy Spring Rolls
These easy-to-customize spring rolls are a refreshing, healthy snack or starter. Each variation layers lean proteins, fiber-rich veggies, flavorful sauces, and fresh herbs. Serve spring rolls with lime or lemon wedges.
Valencian Savory Empanadas
Small pockets of dough filled with ham, onion, tomatoes, parsley, and hard-boiled eggs. These are as tasty as they are easy and impressive. They make great appetizers!
Chilean-Style Sopaipillas
This is a traditional Chilean snack or appetizer made with tender squash that's added to the dough. It's eaten during wintertime, especially when it rains. It is typical to arrive home after walking through the rainy streets of Santiago and sit down to have a cup of tea and eat a couple of sopaipillas. You can also eat ones sold by street vendors, but they usually don't taste as good as homemade ones.
Chickpeas and Chorizo
Chickpea chorizo is a popular Spanish dish served as tapas — and sometimes as a full stew. This recipe includes potatoes to make the dish heartier. Serve with a citrus and fennel salad and some crusty bread for a complete meal. I like to leave the garlic cloves whole and spread them on bread during the meal. If you don't care to do this, reduce the amount of garlic and chop before adding with the sherry.
