Homestyle Kalua Pork with Cabbage in a Slow Cooker
Inspired by the luaus in Hawaii, I set out to make an easy, tasty homestyle slow-cooker version of kalua pork with cabbage. The meat is fall-off-the-bone yummy. This recipe is not overly smoky, but you may add more smoke if you like. Serve with rice, buns, or poi.
Hawaiian Pork Hash
Very popular Hawaiian pupu - you can even get pork hash at the 7-11 here. My recipe is better - it includes shrimp!
Huli Huli Chicken
'Huli Huli Chicken' (turn, turn) was invented by Ernest Morgado when he cooked teriyaki chicken for a group of farmers in 1955. This has been a Hawaiian staple with sticky rice ever since. This is my family's version of Huli Huli Chicken. Use aji mirin (sweet rice wine) in place of sherry if desired.
Hawaiian Chicken I
This was given to me by my best friend years ago and is a favorite of our family!
Hawaiian Haystacks
Rice topped with creamy sauce, lots of veggies, and crunchy noodles make this a quick and easy bust still great anytime meal!

This haupia pie is a chocolate coconut lover's dream. It's a rich and delicious Hawaiian-style dessert.
Hawaiian Pineapple Chicken
I love this baked chicken with pineapple and brown sugar. The sauce is sweet and tangy! I serve it over rice and accompany it with green beans. This recipe was handed down to me from my mother-in-law many years ago.
Oven Kalua Pork
Fire up the tiki torches -- it's time for a luau! This delicious slow-roasted pork is rubbed with sea salt and liquid smoke to recall the glorious flavors of pig cooked in a traditional Hawaiian imu. Once cooked and cooled, it can be shredded and served with poi, yams or even on a bun. You may use ordinary sea salt for this recipe if the Hawaiian variety is unavailable.
Shoyu Chicken
Shoyu chicken is a popular Hawaiian dish often served with rice. The word shoyu is Japanese for soy sauce. Let the chicken soak in the marinade for at least an hour; the longer the better.
Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders
Hawaiian sliders are great for potlucks for something fun and easy to share.
Spam Musubi
Spam musubi is a popular snack in Hawaii. It is a type of sushi that features marinated cooked Spam and rice wrapped with nori. I got this recipe from a local Hawaiian friend when I was living there.
