Millet Breakfast Porridge with Fruit
This nutritious, creamy, hot breakfast is naturally sweet and super easy to make. It just takes a little baking time. It's fabulous both fresh and warmed up later with a little milk. My kids and I gobble it down every time.
Rebecca's Instant Cinnamon Oatmeal
An easy way to make individual instant oatmeal packets for a fast and hearty breakfast. The kids love to help! Add raisins, honey, or fruit as toppings if you like! My family of 7 will triple the recipe and put all the filled baggies into a gallon size resealable for storage. All the kids have to do in the morning is add water and any extra toppings and then microwave.

Harvest Patties
This is a new spin on a traditional Jewish food. They're very sweet and fun to make, making it a great recipe for kids who want to help out in the kitchen. They also make great finger food for parties. Be sure to remove any jewelry before getting started though - you'll be putting your hands into a very sticky mess, and it can get everywhere! Serve hot with apricot preserves, applesauce, maple syrup, or parmesan cheese. If you have a food processor, that will probably work as well, though I prefer the extra-fine result that comes from using a cheese grater. They can also be frozen and reheated.
Banana Oat Bars
These banana oatmeal bars are lower in fat than most bar cookies.
Cranberry and Cilantro Quinoa Salad
I got this cranberry and cilantro quinoa salad recipe from the restaurant my dad built. I love the unique way of cooking the quinoa and the great combination of flavors.
Fårikål
Fårikål is a traditional lamb or mutton recipe from Southern Norway. Lamb and cabbage are layered and stewed with peppercorns. Serve with boiled potatoes that have been sprinkled with parsley.
Bengali Dhal
Here is my recipe for dhal based on my many experiences cooking with my friends over the years. We love this served over freshly made basmati rice. Don't skimp on the caramelized onions and garlic — it totally makes this recipe amazing!
Steel-Cut Oats and Quinoa Breakfast
Combine quinoa and oatmeal to make the best make-ahead breakfast! Full of fiber and protein, this recipe will keep you full all morning. It keeps in the fridge for up to a week.
