My mom has been making rutabaga soup for many years and it is by far the best stew I have ever tasted. I chop and dice all my vegetables by hand so it can take a little bit more time, but it is very much worth the extra effort it takes. Pork, beef, or venison are all good in this recipe too.

I remember my aunt telling me about quinoa, saying it was wonderfully healthy food, and what do you know? It's kosher for Passover! This super easy slow cooker chicken enchilada meat is our busy family's go-to recipe for delicious chicken meat that can be used to make enchiladas, tacos, burritos, nachos, even over rice and beans. So easy to prepare, and the enchilada sauce is to die for. I normally put this together at lunch and serve it after work. Use in your favorite Mexican recipes. Pork or beef can be substituted for the chicken.
Green Tomato Mincemeat
This makes about 30 pints of mincemeat. Have on hand 30 (1-pint) canning jars with brand-new rings and lids. Reusing old lids is not recommended. A delicious way to use green tomatoes. The recipe came from my grandfather, and our family has been making it forever. Use straight from the jar for pies, cookies, muffins, or cake.
Drunken Cranberry Sauce
A family recipe we have used for years. We love it as a side dish to our turkey on Thanksgiving day. Also goes well on chicken, pork, and beef. Makes a great treat as an appetizer served with crackers, or can even be used over vanilla ice cream. I like to add the orange zest a couple tablespoons at a time, as not to overdo it. Adjust sweetness by adding 1 tablespoon sugar at a time at the end of cooking if needed.
