Marinated Mexican Fish Tacos Slaw
I love coleslaw but I don't love the fat and calories from mayonnaise. This slaw is light, fresh, and the perfect topping for fish or shrimp tacos, or it can hold its own as a side dish. Every time I make it I'm asked for the recipe! The Granny Smith apple is the key ingredient that sets this apart from other slaws of this type.
Creamy Apple Slaw
Tastefully delicious salad.
Summer Cabbage Salad
A great salad for summer days, cool, crunchy and refreshingly light. The chicken breasts are preferably barbecued for extra flavor, but baked is ok too. I also often double this recipe and make 3 times the dressing and there is always great lunch leftovers remaining. People also love the dressing so more typically goes onto the salad when you let them self serve than would normally, and that's ok, it makes it very flavorful. You can also crush up the ramen not used when making the dressing, and top the salad with these as well. I prefer them without.
Easy Apple-Carrot Coleslaw
This delicious, creamy coleslaw is kind to your waistline because the dressing has been lightened a bit. The addition of apples (Granny Smiths and Macintoshes are great!) and carrots sweetens the salad nicely.
Vernell's Slaw
Wonderful slaw recipe passed down from my Grandmother's cook, Vernell. It's similar to a sweet and sour cabbage recipe, and will keep for 2 weeks in the refrigerator. Great served with beef brisket. Best made a day or more before serving.
Simple Vegan Coleslaw
This coleslaw recipe is a sugar-free, vegan alternative to the picnic favorite!
Cabbage Salad with Mandarin Oranges and Fig-Dijon Dressing
Are you tired of the same coleslaw? Try this colorful cabbage salad without mayonnaise, but instead, uses your freshly made fig-Dijon salad dressing. Don't want to make your own dressing? Use 1/2 cup or more of your favorite bottled honey mustard dressing. Mandarin oranges and red bell peppers add color, almonds and chopped bacon provide a satisfying crunch!
Southern Coleslaw
This Southern coleslaw recipe has been passed down the generations and is great for any occasion. It has the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I've even been told it is reminiscent of KFC coleslaw. You be the judge!
Apple Coleslaw
Simple, sweet coleslaw that is a great accompaniment to pork-apple burgers or pork sandwiches. You can serve it immediately, but it's best when refrigerated overnight allowing the flavors to blend.
Zesty Coleslaw
This zesty coleslaw made with horseradish is a nice change from regular coleslaw. Add even more horseradish for extra zing!
Dave's Coleslaw
This is a recipe I have worked on for a while and I think it is just about right. It goes well with just about anything from fried fish to hamburgers, and is to die for on a pulled pork sandwich. If you are going to use it with Q, reduce the amount of dressing you add to the cabbage so it's not too sloppy. For best results refrigerate over night to allow flavors to marry.
Cabbage Ramen Salad
So refreshing and colorful! Great as a side dish or a salad on its own. A 'slap-chop' works great if you have one. When I bring this to a party, I keep the oils, veggies, seeds, ramen, and sugar in separate bags until it's time to mix and serve. It tastes better to me when I don't mix the sugar with the oil right away.
